It's Been a Busy....Three Months?!

I guess I need to confess at not being a very good blogger. That would be a start. It's been nearly three months since I last posted an update.

The new online store still isn't finished. I've been butting heads with tech support at the software vendor about some little, but very crucial stuff. Then I finally got around to checking the new site with Windows IE7, and damn...looked like crap! So, much head-butting and head-scratching and the new site still isn't ready. I'm getting close to scrapping the whole thing and starting over again with different software, but I'm not sure yet.

Other than that, we've been busy with gallery shows...this last weekend was the opening for Toy Karma. Mark Nagata curated a kick ass show for us. Really kick ass. Also, major thanks go out to Steve Forde of Go Hero for helping a ton with the setup as well as Bob Conge of Plaseebo Custom for pitching in. Matt, Jason and Sarah also for hanging out and, for the most part, really staying out of the way (which was what I needed)! :p As a result of this show (well, maybe not as a result, but it definitely has something to do with it) we're going to be making a concerted effort to carry more kaiju/JP vinyl at Rotofugi. We're not giving up on western vinyl, just expanding our horizons. Look for more RxH, Dream Rockets, Rumble Monsters, Cronic and the like in the future of the Roto!

Since I last posted we've also announced two projects that we're manufacturing in conjunction with Squibbles Ink: Shawnimal's Ninjatown blind box mini-plush and little vinyl busts called "The Family" by Chicago bad ass Brian Morris. Both projects are rolling along, more or less smoothly, but deadlines are looming and I don't know exactly when we'll release stuff. Let's just say that we want things to be pretty darned good and we're not quite there yet. But we'll get there.

Finally, I've got some other stuff brewing on the side burner that I really, really want to announce...but it's just not yet time yet...so I guess you'll have to wait a few (okay, maybe six) months to find out what I'm hinting at. Let's just say it's gonna be awesome and it's gonna be a lot of work, but in the end it will hopefully result in some very, very cool artsy toys.

So, to recap...I suck at blogging, Toy Karma and kaiju rule (show runs all month), Rotofugi is making toys with our good friends and we've got even more big news coming down the line but it's not time yet. Next gallery opening is October 5, "Practice Make Perfect ... and Other Lies" ... solo show by Brian Morris!
